Poor Me!
Poor lil’ me. I’ve never been so freakn’ sick in the last 5 years. For the past 2 weeks it’s been horrible. Let me just say that I hardly ever get sick. I usually get sick once a year. When I do get sick, I usually get a sniffle, a runny nose and I sneeze a few times then it over. This time Holy Crapola….
A nasty lil’ bug climbed down my throat around the middle of November. Towards the end of November a frog jumped down my throat, and another nastier bug joined the party in my body. It was an attack and my immune system was losing the battle. I had the heat cranked in the house to +30C and I was still cold. My body was shivering, I couldn’t keep warm, my body was so achy and I was hacking up a lung. I sat around in a daze, snuggled up to a small electric 8x12 inch pillow thingy. I felt like I was going through menopause. I would get really hot, kick off the blankets then cool down and shiver like crazy. My voice sounded like a person who has smoked for the last 60 years. I miss my voice.
Nothing got done around the house. My biggest accomplishment was that I was able to take the kids to and from school. The rest of the time I curled up in bed feeling sorry for myself, letting the TV take care of my younger 2. Poor me! Poor lil’ me! Man, I hate being sick. Now I can empathize with people who get sick. Before I used to wonder what the heck their problem was, but man oh man now I know. I’ve never been knocked out this badly by some nasty bug before.
Thankfully I’m starting to feel better. You know the laundry situation is bad in the house when your 4 year old starts complaining.
“Mommy, I have no pants or pajamas to wear! You need to do some laundry! I can’t go around the house nekid you know!” Josh states.
So far I’ve done 10 loads of laundry and I’ve probably got another 10 more to go. I did 3 loads of dishes back to back in the dishwasher and have finally washed all the sticky gunk off the floor. I finally have some energy to get things done around this house. I know I’m starting to feel better when I get back into Hitler mode.
After 2 weeks of doing nothing the kids are now cleaning up their rooms and all their toys. I bet the kids miss the sick mommy. They got to have pizza 3 out of the 7 days of the week and all kinds of take out that was available for the rest of the 4 days. They got to watch TV till their eye balls fell out and did no chores around the house. The house was a sty and my lil’ piggies were happy rolling around in the filth. Yuck. Now the clean up begins. My energy is back and I’m getting ready for the Christmas craziness.
Hi Blackberriesgirl, I had no idea you’ve been so sick. I was happy to see you’re feeling better now. Don’t overdo it and have a relapse ok?? Take care of yourself
